"the"
(a)to point out object that are already
mention or known;
e.g. He bought a car. The car is red.

(b)to refer a particular person,
animals,thing or place;
e.g That is the boy who has taken my bag mistakenly.
The lady in a blue dress is my aunt.
(c)to show something that is unique or one
of its kind;

(d)to refer a thing in general;
e.g. The chimpanzee is an intelligent animal.
